Community Applications

The following applications are available to members of the Tuscarora community:



(Applications are due Monday, April 30, 2018.) As agreed upon in the NYPA-Tuscarora Relicensing Agreement between the NY Power Authority (PA) of the State of New York and the Tuscarora Nation, the PA is responsible for developing and implementing in consultation with the Nation, a scholarship program.

The program will provide, on an annual basis, two (2) undergraduate full-tuition scholarships to Tuscaroras matriculating at any community college or university in the State University of New York (SUNY) system.The student shall receive tuition for the fall and spring semesters for four (4) years.

Guidelines: 1) Applicant must be enrolled at Tuscarora; 2) Applicant must be a matriculating student; and 3) Be attending school full-time each semester.

The Tuscarora Nation is pleased to announce a grant for enrolled Tuscarora attending college, university, trade schools, or vocational training programs. The money awarded is intended for books and/or supplies. In return, the approved applicant's clanmother may call upon them to help at Tuscarora Nation events for the betterment of our people. When their check arrives, a list of possible avenues for assistance will be attached. This grant is available to undergraduate, graduate and vocational students.

1) Applicant must be enrolled at Tuscarora
2) Applicant must be matriculated in a post-secondary education institute which includes undergraduate, graduate, or post-graduate/professional programs and be seeking a degree or certification (students attending trade schools or vocational training programs are eligible.)
3) Students may apply every semester but must achieve a 2.0 GPA based on a 4.0 scale. If an applicant falls below a 2.0 he/she may reapply after grades rise above a 2.0. Grades will not be taken into account when students apply for the first time.
4) Eligibility will be determined by the Scholarship Committee and the Tuscarora Council of Chiefs and Clanmothers.
